TV Oracle Podcast #16: Sssssssssmokin'!!!!
Blake returns to the podcast just in time for a conversation about the new tobacco industry satire Thank You For Smoking, based on the novel by Christopher Buckley. All Oracles liked the film for a few moments of huge laughs and Aaron Eckhart's charismatic performance as the central spokesman for the tobacco industry. Still, the film is not perfect. Tune in to find out which member of the film's cast is the biggest liability.
This week's TV Update segment centers around the recent lackluster episode of American Idol, the evolution of ABCs new sitcom Sons & Daughters, and the jaw-dropping recent episode of ABCs Lost, in which an important piece of the island mythology is revealed.
Don't forget to put Robert Altman's Nashville in your Netflix queue as next week begins the monthly "Our Favorite Movies" segment. Oh yeah, and, as always, if you're Chris Daughtry or Adam Brody, then please give Sara a call. She'll make you happy.

TV Oracle Podcast #15: P For Podcast

Blakeo, Blakeo. Whereforart thou, Blakeo? This week, Clarence and Sara open with a few quick notes about hot TV topics over the past week, including the bizarre Sopranos episode, an American Idol controversy, and the new season of South Park (without Isaac Hayes... sort of). The Oracles are wax poetic about one of their new favorite shows, Weeds, starring Mary-Louise Parker and Elizabeth Perkins. The show will be released soon on DVD but is currently available as a download on iTunes.
Finally, the Oracles get political with their review of V For Vendetta, a film seemingly calculated to elicit strong emotions and outrage from the audience but did neither for Clarence or Sara. Although, there is a reason why Clarence may be a bit fuzzy on the early details of the film. Find out why in this week's show, and join us next week for the return of Blake Ellavsky.

TV Oracle Podcast #14: Poseurs Galore

With Sara rejoining the podcast, the Oracles discuss TV's newest reality series, FX's Black.White. Airing Wednesdays on FX at 10pm EST, this hot-button show takes a white and black family and forces them to live as the other race. Both Oracles agree that the show is a worthwhile addition to the FX's TV lineup, while each has issues with the show's setup and sometimes far-fetched reality conventions.
Speaking of far-fetched, the Oracles take a look at the new film She's the Man, starring Amanda Bynes in a loose adaptation of William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. As Shakespeare spins in his grave, the Oracles take a no-holds-barred approach at film criticism. Let the bloodletting begin.
Finally, this week's DVD segment is Sam Mendes' Jarhead.

TV Oracle Podcast #13: The End of Awards Season

The podcast returns to its regular format this week after a brief diversion. After announcing the winner of the very first Oracle Oscar Contest, the Oracles discuss their reactions to the Oscar ceremony and, more importantly, the performance of new Oscar host Jon Stewart.
Also, in an additional TV segment, the Oracles have their biggest disagreement to date over ABCs new show Sons & Daughters. Blake appreciates the show's improvisational air while Clarence finds the show excrutiatingly boring. Of course, it's the most polite disagreement you'll ever hear.
Finally, the Oracle bid a fond adieu to The Final Word and introduce the first of a revolving closing segment, Trailer Trash. This week's movie trailer victim is the trailer for Basic Instinct 2, which both Oracles eviscerate completely.

TV Oracle Podcast #12: The Oraclees
After an unfortunate delay, the Oraclees are finally here. What are the Oraclees you might ask? They are our version of the Oscars, but, more than that, they are a parody of award shows in general: of their meaningless categories, of their painfully overwrought film descriptions, of their mindless audience chatter and applause, and of their seemingly out of left-field musical performances.
We hope you enjoy listening to the Oraclees as much as we did making them.
...we return to sanity with next week's podcast.
